PARSLEY
About Parsley
Parsley is a culinary herb native to lands of the Mediterranean. It’s been used for centuries, dating back to the ancient Greeks and Romans who used it to flavor and garnish their foods. At Lady Moon Farms we grow both the Italian flat-leaf and French curly-leaf parlsey varieties.
Selection
Choose parsley that has a bright green color and crisp leaves.
Storage
Parsley will keep well for a few days to a week in the refrigerator. Wrap it in a damp towel or place it covered and upright in a container with an inch of water.
Preparation
Finely chop the parsley leaves and add to Mediterranean salads such as Tabbouleh or Middle Eastern Chopped Salad. Both are quick and easy to make, and full of fresh ingredients (try including Lady Moon Farms tomatoes and cucumers!). You can also sauté finely chopped leaves with garlic and add at the last minute to steak, fried fish, or vegetables. It’s very versatile so feel free to experiment!
Nutrition
Parlsey is a nutrient-dense herb. It’s especially rich in vitamin K, vitamin A, and vitamin C and antioxidants (flavonoids and carotenoids).
